5th Grade ELA/SS Calendar

40 Book Challenge (Reading Log)

Reading is the most important skill you will ever learn. It opens doors in your life that would not have been possible without this essential skill. Reading is also much easier and more fun when you are interested in what you are reading.

Traditionally, you have been asked to log your reading time every night and turn in the form to your teacher. 5th grade will be a bit different.

This year, your reading teachers are challenging you to complete the 40 Book Challenge. We want you to complete 40 books this school year that have a combined total page count of 2,500. Yes, you are right, that is a lot of pages! Don't worry though, they add up quickly.

Hulshult/Waldie Students:

What to do:

1. Finish a book
2. Click HERE and fill out the Google Form to log your completed book.
3. Log it in your 40 Book Challenge Log Folder
3. Start a new book!

Your totals will be updated by your teacher every month so that you can see how far you have gotten.
There will be rewards and prizes for reaching certain levels, so keep reading as much as you can!
